Are you struggling with persistent eye discomfort, dryness, or a gritty sensation in your eyes? You might be suffering from dry eye syndrome, a common condition that affects many people in Delhi due to environmental factors, lifestyle, and other health conditions. At View Care Eye Centre, we specialize in providing effective dry eye treatment in Delhi, helping you find relief and restore comfort to your eyes.

Understanding Dry Eye Syndrome

Dry eye syndrome occurs when your eyes don’t produce enough tears or when the tears evaporate too quickly, leading to irritation, redness, and a constant feeling of dryness. This condition can affect your daily life, making activities like reading, using a computer, or even driving uncomfortable.

Several factors contribute to dry eyes, including:

  • Environmental Factors: Exposure to dry air, wind, or air conditioning can exacerbate symptoms.
  • Age: Tear production decreases with age, making dry eye more common in older adults.
  • Medications: Certain medications, such as antihistamines or antidepressants, can reduce tear production.
  • Health Conditions: Conditions like diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, or thyroid disorders can also contribute to dry eyes.
  • Screen Time: Prolonged use of screens without adequate blinking can lead to dry eyes.

Comprehensive Dry Eye Treatment in Delhi

At View Care, we offer a range of dry eye treatments in Delhi customized to the severity and cause of your condition. Our approach is thorough, starting with a detailed examination to identify the underlying cause of your dry eyes. Based on your diagnosis, our treatments may include:

  • Artificial Tears and Lubricating Eye Drops: These are often the first line of treatment, providing immediate relief by supplementing your natural tears.
  • Prescription Medications: For more persistent cases, we may prescribe medications that reduce inflammation or increase tear production.
  • Punctal Plugs: These tiny devices are inserted into the tear ducts to reduce tear drainage, keeping the eyes moist for longer periods.
  • Meibomian Gland Expression: If your dry eyes are caused by blocked oil glands, we can perform a procedure to unblock these glands and restore the natural tear film.
  • Lifestyle and Environmental Modifications: We provide guidance on adjusting your environment and habits to reduce dry eye symptoms, such as using a humidifier or taking regular breaks from screen time.

MGD is a Meibomian Gland Dysfunction, a form of evaporative dry eye. In this condition, the meibomian gland present in eyelids ceases to secrete the oil which creates a lipid barrier over a tear film, preventing them from rapid evaporation of the eye surface.

Dry Eyes are treated better in the earlier stage. There are various treatment options available based on the severity of Dry Eye

  • Lubricants– Artificial Tears either in form of drops or ointment. They help to substitute for the deficient tear secretion and stabilize the tear film

  • Surgery – In rare cases the eyelids become loose or are not in touch with the eye surface, causing increased tear drainage. This can be fixed by tightening the eyelid to the normal resting position.
